Love this!

I have a note saved which is entitled "Yay for me: reasons why I am epic!" and I put anything in there which gives my heart a warm glow. Texts from friends with compliments, emails from people I work with, photos I treasure and of course book reviews and client testimonials.

It's a perfect antidote to any traces of impostor syndrome/when I'm having a slump in motivation ❤️

Oww I only saw this now. Meeting up with the other Villa Pias yesterday made me open up substack, so happy to read this! Do you keep going with collecting the compliments?

One of my co-workers told me she keeps a special file in her email file entitled “Miranda emails”, as she admires the way I write and frame things and she likes going back to them from time to time. Never thought of email writing as much of an art form, but I’ll take it!

Emails are definitely an art form, and that is a lovely compliment. Well-deserved, I'm sure!

Making someone laugh out loud is also the highest compliment! Thank you for sharing, Rebecca—and I loved reading this post...you're a brilliant writer 😉

also, I have a compliments collection too! It's been a really important part of my journey as a freelancer and a writer—both of which really test your confidence and self-belief.

This line is beautiful, Keith: "However being stung by life's little bites, remains forever embedded, so shaping our journey." Thank you. Life's little bites indeed. I also think of them as little pebbles we collect in our shoes - they hurt, and make us wobble, don't they? Perhaps it's time to shake them out.
